Hi!
I agree with above points.
You need to update your site as frequently as you can. Of course some rubbish articles won't help you a lot. You need to find balance between quality and quantity. If you don't have enough time for it, maybe it's better to hire a specialist who will do this for you?

Yes, but what if you update your site regularly but never share it anywhere? Quality content is great, but if I never share that content anywhere, does it really benefit me?

I agree with PatprecisionE. You do need authentic content but there's no point in having it if it doesn't drive any traffic.

Once you have a blog, social media accounts and perhaps a newsletter should be used to share that content so people can interact with it.

Tips for the blog itself:

- don't try to forcefully sell your products/services
- offer content that is of use to the reader, doesn't bore them & is entertaining to read
- it should be something related to your area of expertise but different (eg we are an IT company but we blog about tech & gadgets). An example of an ar/ticle in our blog - how not to overpay for cables, keyboard shortcuts, what to do when you forget your phone at home, etc.

Remember this is a way to show off what you know and to give your company a tone of voice.

let us know how it goes

I agree with you, sharing is the key to getting high rankings. But Google or any other search engine wants the most relevant and interesting topics at the top of their search engine results so that customers consistently find what they are looking for. Ranking sites by “freshness” is a logical way to decide which pages are going to be more up to date and useful. So even if you don't share it, you'll benefit.

Default Does A Blog Really Help My Ranking In Google?

Adding blog to the website really helps if your content on the blog is viral and updated time to time. Google like fresh content which in turn gives you good results.

Search engines and people want new stuff online. You don't expect to stay long for the old ones. Unless they're so interesting. Why not take a break for a while. Free your mind. Involve yourself on social media activities and forum activities. In this way, you'll get new ideas on how to inform your readers.

Yes, one of the techniques in ranking in Google is to create a blog with a quality content. but be sure you will not only focus on bloggin because there are also other techniques in SEO such as backlinking, directory submission and etc.

Default Blogging IT

I just started a blog on my site as well. I use the plugin Yoast to help me make sure the topic (and keyword density ) I am trying to write about fits the SEO fold. Making sure your topic is a quality topic is important, but so is making sure you did it in an SEO friendly way.
