Default Looking For A Marketing Referral

Hey everyone, do any of know someone in the pet retail industry, a store owner, a toy or food maker or seller? I am working on a marketing plan for my company and could use tips from people with real experience in this industry.

Im looking for someone specifically in the dog toy segment but any help is welcome. We are launching a new marketing campaign which will be crucial to our success next year (it could make or break us) Thank you.

And yes we may do business with this person or company depending on a few factors. But they would be used as a reference or would answer a few questions about what marketing venues they have chosen for their pet store and/or pet toy product. Thanks again and have a great day!

Um what you call "nothing major" is actually a fairly serious investment of time, energy and expertise on the part of the mentor for a very critical component of your business (marketing).

Anyone who has the precise experience you need with a track record decent enough to act as a mentor is either going to have to charge you for their time or you are going to have to cultivate one that is willing and able to volunteer in that capacity.

If you are looking for free you might want to try SCORE they do have volunteer experts who can mentor, but you would not get to choose which industry or expertise they offer.

Well to be honest with you I was just going to ask them a few questions. Im not writing a typical marketing plan with figures and detailed numbers. Its an excel file with descriptions and estimated costs. Plus some of the things we will be focusing on are easy to accomplish (such as social networking or getting free exposure through press releases).

I should re-state what I asked for:

I don't need a mentor but instead someone who can answer a few questions about what marketing venues they have chosen for their pet store or pet toy and why.

Have you read Robert Allen's book, "Multiple Streams of Income"? Even before we read it, we were 100% behind its philosophy - the NEED for several sources of income, not necessarily in pursuit of wealth, but "just in case" something happens to the income you have now - because most people only have ONE, tenuous at best, and certainly beyond their control This site is about one stream that is both popular and relatively easy to set up and develop. Unfortunately, it is also mired in controversy and misunderstanding, mainly because of high profile mutations of the concept that have distorted the public image of what it is, and because of the way some individuals and the organisations they have developed in their image have twisted and marred the concept.

I suggest that you post some of your proposed plan for your marketing plan. If you're creative enough then you might find yourself sufficient enough to create big innovations for your company. It is also much better to creative in the field of marketing because that's what the battlefield in marketing is all about
