SEM is something that we do not possess knowledge of creating google campaigns and that is a continuously flow of money to keep the campaigns up. So what we are looking for is to gain some more display in the Google results for our site. It seem to be more capital efficient.

We would kindly appreciate your feedback.
SEO is actually part of SEM (search engine marketing)
SEO - search engine optimization - ranking on the keywords you are targetting takes time but once you gain the results, you definitely enjoy it. If a prospect finds your website when he/she is searching for a particular product/service, the closing rate for the deal is bigger since he/she's interested.
Another SEM strategy is the PPC or pay per click. The results for this one can be seen immediately as long as you have the budget. You will be bidding for keywords and will compete against other competitor. But the results here is not forever especially if you don't have the budget anymore.
The best combination would be to invest both in SEO and PPC.
