There is absolutely nothing in my post that is promotional.

Interesting read, I left my comment there as well. I think PPC is a great way to start a SEO campaign, but not one that many small businesses should bank on over the long haul.

Oh definitely. PPC can bring traffic in quickly, while SEO will take time to bear fruit. It's best to work on both until the SEO side reaches the "tipping point" and produces tangible results.

Default PPC not for long haul? Disagree

I would disagree with the idea that 'PPC is not a strategy that a business should rely on in the long haul.' In my experience paid search advertising, when constructed and managed well, can provide a very high return on investment for advertisers. And if the ads are not generating positive ROI, the fact will be immediately evident by conversion tracking, and advertising strategy can be adjusted.

Default Right time right place

It seems obvious to me that both methods have their worth, just depends on circumstance. Google will place all new websites under a sandbox (filtering process) so what other options do new websites have than PPC? Obviously SEO is of the highest importance but new businesses must think pragmatically: building trust through providing a good service will always help - even if they have found your site through a sponsored link.

I use PPC for promotional purposes only. It's great for new sites, but I would never recommend it for the long run.

Good post, I also left comments. I see now that PPC should only be a part of my over all marketing strategy.
