Question Is Age Of Site Important For SEO?

Is age of site important for SEO? How does google determine the age of the site or can we register our sites age in google?

Website age is very important for SEO. The older the site the more valuable it becomes. Google knows your websites age from the date they first indexed it. That is automatic and does not have to be submitted anywhere.

Yes age is important although not as important in my opinion as it was a couple years ago.

Age is far more important now for the websites that are linking back to you. The older the website is that links back to you the better. The link will have more trust (assuming that website hasn't ruined their reputation.)

Google will measure your website's age from the date they first crawled it and found content. So, it is not necessarily the same date as the site was registered. If a site was registered and just parked, then it is possible that Google did not discover that website for years. It would not discover the website until someone either submitted it through their new website submission form or unless someone linked to it from some other place that was indexed.

Yes some times it is important if you have a site from 2 years and do not have good PR and good backlinks it means the submitting site in these type of site is totally worth less.

Yes, domain age is very important factor of SEO, because new domains can not have too much SEO. one has to be very conscious and selective in it.

Domain age is important.
Google first gives a preference to old age domains.

I agree that the age og your domain is important, statistics tells that 50% of new domains go to the "sand box" for 4-6 month

Thats the whole reason for the sandbox. That and people would just black hat a site to the top, and when they got caught would turn around and do it again. The sandbox keeps that from happening as often. Since you will take a penalty to start until google sees what your site is truly about.

Like most people said here, the age of a site is very important especially in the recent Google's algorithm changes. An old site has more authority than a new one in Google's eye when it comes to ranking.

One of the reason is to stop "blackhat" marketers to create low-quality sites and rank them at the top using various techniques.
