Hi,

I would agree that small business owners get their website otpimized with few software's like WebCEO and Word tracker and sit back awaiting traffic, in this dynamic world everything is changing so don't try to relax once your site is out of sandbox (which people refer to Google starting to show your results on search engine ...) you can attract traffic from following sources too

a) If you are ecommerce business then submit your catalog to Froogle and you can be listed in top results for your product keywords for free
b) If you are ecommerce submit to Price engines like shopping.com, eBay, pricegrabber.com etc
c) If you are content/ecommerce business then create Blogs and post articles related to your industry and have backlinks to your site, submit this blogs to blogwise.com, bloglines.com sites and expose your blogs
d) If you are content/ecommerce business then create RSS feeds and post articles related to your industry and have backlinks to your site, submit this feeds to feedburner.com
e)Try PR campaign by linking to other sites which have ranking from 3-9
f) Try buy Adwords and Adsense if you have budget for marketing
g) What else ohh submit your site to Google sitemaps [snip]

And keep an eye on changing market trends ....
