Default New Article - 10 Reminders For Usability Web Design To Make Site Visitors Adore You

Authored by: Kim Krause Berg

A Snippet:

No matter how hard you try, there is always something wrong with your website. There is always a critic. I have a friend outside the USA who thankfully alerts me of my 404 error pages, which I appreciate, even though I told him over the weekend he was making me scream at my own inability to be perfect.

LOL -- just goes to prove again; it doesn't matter what you do in life, whether it be on the 'Net or on a piece of paper ... somebody's gonna Bitch because you didn't do and/or say something to suit "just them".

They need to get over it; realize everyone thinks / talks / acts differently, no matter who you are, nor where you're from ... just imagine the world if we were all the same -- how boring would that be?

All great points in the article well made. Has anyone noticed a trend in web design. It seems to me that a few years ago we reached a point where all websites were trying to cram as much information as possible on them and now my browsing suggests that companies are opting for a leaner, cleaner less cluttered landscape. Any thoughts?

Yes; web sites (companies) are still cramming the same info into their sites; just using different methods.

Amen to that. And...

They'll complain and not offer a suggestion to improve the issue, or

They'll complain to go along with the herd, or

They'll complain for attention.

Good article. This confirms that USABILITY is as important, if not MORE important, than search engine optimization.

I don't care how high a site ranks if it turns out to have dead-end links, impossibly slow page loads, confusing graphics, or dozens of alerts that I won't view everything unless I download the latest upgrades or plug-ins.

The camping Web site example cracks me up. That's classic!
