Default New Article - Put SEO In Your Site Design

Authored by: Bruce Clay

A Snippet:

Research also reveals that the top search listings convey brand equity to users, another good reason for achieving high rankings in the SERPs. Search engine optimization (SEO) techniques produce top rankings in the SERPs, yet many web developers and designers do not take the time or do not know how to properly optimize a site for high rankings.

Default Flash Navigation, Why Bruce?

Nice article Bruce. I always enjoy reading your articles and listening to your sessions at SES.

Ever since you redesigned your site, a question has been lingering in my mind and maybe other SEO's. I think this is the approriate place to ask it.

Why does your site use Macromedia Flash based navigation? What's the logic behind it? Why did you choose to have the spiders ignore the content in a most crucial area of the site? This seems to contradict your teachings.

Quote:
Spiders can only follow the most basic HTML code. Spiders do not recognize complex JavaScript so if you enclose a link in JavaScript, it may be ignored. The same thing applies to forms (spiders can't complete them), Flash and other complex code.
As a leading SEO expert Mr. Clay, I hope you will adress these questions to the community.
