I know that we have helped countless small business build strong websites... and generate tons of new business. In fact, one of our clients said that their business DOUBLED with the website (which ranks between 1 and 5 in Google depending on the search terms).
But these folks are not the norm. They are the exception. I totally agree with the concept. I just know that most people that are NOT online don't understand the concept... and they WILL NOT BUY what they don't understand.
I took the position several years ago that life is too short to try and educate everyone. Yes, I will provide a snapshot view of what online can do for a business to anyone who wants to hear it... but track records prove that many, many, many of the offline businesses (and local business) that could really do well by having something online... just don't understand.
I think that is the BIGGEST stumbling block with the idea. But that is just my 2 cents worth.

Hi 'Be The Best',
I agree with you that your 2 cents are actually worth a lot more than that. I have found this to be true and no matter what we do if the customer does not 'get it' then we will not 'sell it'.
I have had a lot of interest but no 'sales'.
I am now going to go another route and learn more before tackling this again.
Thanks,
Tim
