I agree, as I am with a primary business whose leading money earner suggested that one blog, write e-zines, participate in forums, etc., instead of buying generic leads that do nothing but send you bogus leads, and cost you $$, in building up your business and client base.
When building up your team, blogging is a great way to create duplication - if your downline sees that you are successful, they will try it as well. This person who has become successful suggested a few things regarding blogging effectively.
#1 - He suggested that you do a keyword research when creating a name for your blog. You want to create a blog name which will assure that you have a lot of visitors daily.
#2 - When creating your name, while you want one that will attract a lot of visitors - you don't want to create a name based on keywords which will attract a lot of competition because other blog names are similar in wording. For example: Naming a blog entitled along the lines of "Joe's home business" will have stiff competition from others which also use the keywords: "home business".
#3 - add your blog to a directory such as MyYahoo, as example. Sites such as these provide directions on how to undertake this task
#4 - Ping your blog - You want people to know when you have updated your blog in a directory. Sites such as PingOMatic allow you to enter info. onto this site and have your blog added to other directories as well, giving you more exposure. Also use an ad tracker to monitor how many hits you receive daily on your blog - the # of visitors who are exposed to your writing. And of course, always have an effective signature to advertise the product/service that you are offering.
