A Snippet"

"While the 18-49 crowd has long served as the key demographic for agencies, attitudes are starting to change. There are now 77 million boomers out there and they have more than $1 trillion in spending power."

I agree with this article that we sometimes don't look at the "whole" picture as we are marketing.
I will relate a personal experience of mine.
When we started our business...we only took names of the "Husbands and Wives"...for our birthday and anniversary lists. The kids were just considered part of the family.
Then one day it dawned on me....these kids are our future customers!
Our cards now ask for the names and birthdays of each child. They also receive a birthday card from us with the offer of a free piece of pie on their birthdays.
It's amazing....but we have been in business only 5 1/2 years here...yet....those 12 year old kids that came in when we first opened...now have their own money to spend for eating out!
In a few years...they will be the "young" married couples....and the ones to replace our otherwise "older" crowd.
I'm glad we didn't miss the opportunity as it came along to market to them!
