I read the web site hostage situation and found it very interesting. Here is my situation. I want a person or business to help ME continue to develop my site. I am in the process of learning how to change text etc. for SEO and content with Macromedia Contribute. My site developers are charging me a fortune. I keep trying to minimize expenses by doing as much work as I can, but it never works. They charge like lawyers....billable hours.
Here is what I want...Someone to take over the the process of helping ME
learn how to manage my site. I need help with how it all works. I guess this would mean this person would host the site too? I want to be actively involved in how to do things AND want this person/business to help me learn, and eventually give more control over to me.
One of my sites has a shopping cart, and that is where I feel like a hostage. I've also been told that moving this one site is a big deal because of all the pages involved. I am worried about changing. I guess because I don't know what is involved in having someone new to help.
I do realize that a webmaster/developer does not need to be local. I will be picky! Is anyone interested?? If you want to have a look ,the two sites are:

carwileauctions.com

Sorry I can't help you with your site but I wanted to say I enjoy your posts and I think your site name is great. Good luck. I'm sure someone in this forum can help.

If anyone wishes to respond to Rug Rats, please do so by sending a PM or emailing them and do not post here. Technically this thread should be in the Services (http://www.smallbusinessbrief.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=34) forum but in order to post there, a member needs to have at least 30 quality posts.

This forum should be used to provide general advice on web site development and not to "hire" or "promote" services so i am going to close this one out.
