Just some suggestions to get their attention.

"Your headlines should give the reader a fair idea of what the page contains. This not only generates interest -- if done properly -- it also helps your reader decide if your web page contains the information he or she is looking for. Even if they go somewhere else, they'll appreciate your copy content for helping them make a quick decision."

Yes.

To sound credible, you'll need to:
- do a thorough research before writing anything
- write objectively
- show examples of what you are talking about
- use numbers - they add precision to your article
- back yourself up with quotes either from your customers (if you are an expert), or from experts (if you are not an expert)

Having a solid UVP (unique value proposition) is a good foundation for all of the above. When that is in place, it makes content creation so much more intuitive.

Excellent Article !!!

Any information and suggesting is very well appreciated. It is our decision to take it or not.

This article focus on the style and tone of the writing and not in the structure of an article. They are good points and very valuables, even for an experienced writer. :cheers:

Tone and styles may make readers to stay :dog: or run away :chicken: !!!

Thanks, Linda, for posting the article.

There was one point the author mentioned... about sounding credible. The fact is that any communication has to be true or it will fall on its face - or come back to haunt you. This follows the basic law of public relations: Never put a lie on PR lines.

Other than the valid points offered by the author, as a copywriter I write the kind of copy I'd enjoy reading.

I can add from my experience. The headline is the face of your article. People usually read more than 10 headlines to choose the article they will read to the end. So, the headline has to be not only with a fair idea of the content but also it has to be a little mysterious. It has to generate the desire to read more….

Compare the following:
a. What moves revolutions and franchising?
b. Information on franchise association

Or what about: c. Franchise slavery?

Which one will you choose to read on my blog?…
