I need some help with some facts and figures, does anybody now how many people shop online this year and what sought of year on year growth?

Do more women buy than men? And what are the various age groups ie teenagers cd’s dvd etc 30 – 40 years holidays etc?

It's not really easy to get some of that demographic information.

You might be able to find something interesting amongst the data that Nielsen//NetRatings releases:

Yep, there are a couple that provide some stats (although not all requested):

Study: November online sales up 19 percent:

What’s the situation if you want to quote the information on the link do you quote the source or do I have to get permission from the website?

I'd quote the source and get permission if you are using more than just a couple of sentences on your site.

Quoting the source would likely be sufficient if you are just using a couple of snippets.
