What is ROR file for Sitemaps? I read somewhere that there is an ROR file similar to xml file and where is it used?

ROR (Resources of a Resource) is basically an XML file describing all URLs in your page so that they can be better understood by search engines, spiders, web applications etc.ROR objects are placed in an ROR feed called ror.xml and the feed allows the search engines spider to quickly identify all the content and attributes of the website.There's an online tool to generate the ROR which you can find here-http://www.rorweb.com/rormap.htm

Thanks but i also want to know where exactly to use simple xml and ror.xml.
