View Full Version : E-commerce Web builders?

Anyone,

I am looking into building another e-commerce website and am researching web builders - that also offer web hosting (if possible)?

I know of Yahoo, of course - but don't like the idea of them taking a % of each sale... and their templates are so ugly looking... unless you hire someone else to revamp the look.... which is more $$.

I've looked at Finest Shops (http://www.finestshops.com) - which is where I'm leaning, but they have raised their monthly to almost $70.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Valerie ~

I have gone with Volusion (http://www.volusion.com) for my new site. They do it all. The monthly fee is pretty high up, but once you really go through and see everything that is included you end up saving money.

http://www.ecommercetemplates.com/

You could try these guys for pre-built templates that you can throw on any hosting server you may already have.

You can also use one of these templates as a start and code your own visual graphics around it.

A custom solution will generally cost you more. GoDaddy is also offering Ecommerce sites.

Dont forget you will also need an SSL certificate for the order site.

Thanks for your suggestions...

The reason why I would go w/web builders like Volusion (http://www.volusion.com) or Finest Shops (http://www.finestshops.com) is because they already have a shopping cart built in and can just gateway to my existing merchant account.

Volusion seems very pricey to me and they take a lot/sale for the gateway option to my merchant acct. I am still leaning towards Finest Shops, but would like to explore more than two options.

If anyone knows of any others, I would appreciate hearing of more options?

Thanks again,
Valerie

Hi

What type of security precautions you wish to include when you plan to start the shopping site?
