View Full Version : Duplicate URLs For Same Product

I am working on moving my yahoo store. Corecommerce is one solution we are exploring. They way their navigation works, if I list a product in more than one category, it assigns a new url for each location.

For example, http://bayinghound207.corecommerce.com/Rafters-Lynx-p4.html,1 and http://bayinghound207.corecommerce.com/Sustainable-Footwear/Rafters-Lynx-p4.html go to the same product.

I am concerned about the SEO implications. I have read that spider bots don't like duplicate content, and this would be exact duplications all over my site.

Does anyone want to weigh in on whether this is a big deal?

Use rel="canonical". This is the solution to your problem. Or just visit this url for gathering more information:
