I thought this article might be of interest for anyone who is trying to decide what to sell and how to build a site to sell it:

Thanks for the link. I took a look, and I have mixed views about this. On the one hand I have to be in favour of anything that makes it easier for a business to go online and survive. On the other hand I believe the best way to build a website is by hand, with loving care and attention given to every detail - and this has to be in partnership with a client who has a vision, determination, and a good business plan. I've come across people from time to time who want to find a quick and easy way to get into e-commerce (for want of anything else), but as time goes by they eventually give up. I find it's best not to get involved.
It's hard to judge. I couldn't find many example sites built with SBI. The question is, does it really work? It will work for some. In my intro I said I used to be an architect, and I see a parallel here with system buildings and "architect designed" buildings. They both have a place but the best architecture is designed by an architect. And of course, like most websites, most buildings are mundane.

That struck me as a bit odd as well.
While reading the site I got that "Work from home! make $4000.00 an hour!!!" feeling. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've seen a lot of on-line offers for working at home, running your own business, getting inventions pattented and marketed, etc. And this site really seems to use the same type of marketing talk.
While this may in fact be a very good thing. I do suggest some research into the company and its product, as well as its reputation before diving in.
Thank you for the link however Linda, I know you mean well. :)

Hello,
Too late to add to this?
When I first decided having a home based business on line was what I wanted
to do I knew nothing about the big picture on how to put it all together.
The more I looked into it the more intimadated I became.
I was overwhelmed by definitions of meta tags search words, html, all of it.
I was pretty discouraged by the time I did come accross SBI.
To be honest,a little too much hype for my tastes, but I did do some research and the more I found the more i came to like the program.
They do have links available to see actual SBI sites and I did check the stats on those sites. They were pretty impressive.
The concept of a total package that took care of everything and then some was pretty appealing for a newbie.
I was concerned that I would not have as much control over site design at first.I have an idea and plan for my site and do not want to give up too much of my own creativity.Found that to be no problem at all,you are able to upload
any graphics or templates to the SBI site builder and put it together as you would in any editor.
As I went along with the program I found more and more that confirmed this was a good decision on my part.I now trust the program and have met some pretty great people through the SBI forum that have been supportive and nurturing to all newbies.
I have saved a lot of money and saved time on the learning curve,(are we ever finished with that one?)
One thing I do have a appreciation for is respecting some one else's hard earned money.I felt sure enough about this company to be involved in a different area of it as well.people where going to get there monies worth and more.
Is it the answer to everything I need to learn or to agree with? Of course not
It is however a safe and sure foundation to get started with.
As with anything else you are only going to get back what you put in.
There is a lot of prep work that you do with SBI,It is not get rich quick and it is not magic.
It truly is a great answer for a newbie.
For a seasoned net savy marketer?
Sorry,I don't know the answer to that,I'm not there yet!
Regards,
Tanna
