Anyone have links to good instalation software systems? The only one I've ever seen is InstalShield but *choke* the prices!!!

I just need something that is going to pop up the license agreement, require a yes to continue the install, and so on.

Thanks.

Check out the Nullsoft Scriptable Installer System:

http://nsis.sourceforge.net/

Free and fairly full-featured.

Thank you very much for the link!

If I can get it working that one will definitely be a keeper. I've always like Winamp, and Nullsoft certainly has a good product there. I can only assume that they use their own installer for it (what a bad move if they don't!).

Ok. :(
I'm back at square one. I guess I misread the NSIS stuff. I don't really have the time or energy to learn an entire new programming language just to create installation software.

All I need is a way to force the user to sign the EULA before they use the software. Wether that be before they are allowed to d/l the software after purchasing or whatever. I'm getting concerned that I'm going to have to attach a readme file to it with the EULA and hope I don't ever have to rely on it. :(
I can't believe the prices on systems like Wise and InstallShield. They are raping small software companies.

I would have to sell 50 copies of my software just to make up for the price of the installer.

I'm confident that at least 2 people will find it useful, if that is any indication of my predicament. :( Everyone likes to dream of making lots of money off a good product, but, while I have my target group selected, I don't know that the software would take off.

Even so. Even if I had a crystal ball and could forsee that I would sell 100 copies of the product in the first month, I don't have nearly the $$ to buy the install stuff.

Are there any options for this that don't involve installation? Do I really need to force the purchaser to state that they have read the EULA?

I use WISE SOLUTIONS. It does not have too many bells and whistles and it reasonably priced.
