I have recently submitted an entry in an open competition to design
www.growsracuse.com which will be a online portal for CNY's creative and
entrpreneural minds.

GrowSyracuse.com will be the primary online portal for individuals and
organizations interested in growing Syracuse’s entrepreneurial and
creative community. The website’s design and layout will use the latest
web development capabilities to showcase Syracuse as the home for a
creative, technologically advanced population that is capable and
committed to using the Internet for transforming its economy and community.

Baseline Requirements were:

The portal will have a section devoted to entrepreneurial content and
interactions.
The entrepreneurial sections of the portal will replace four websites
currently operated by the Chamber

http://www.SyracuseBusinessIncubator.com

In addition to the current content of the above websites, the portal will
also enable
Entrepreneurial job postings
Viewing of events calendars and descriptions
Online event registration
Checking meeting space availability
Signing up for email listserves
Webcasting of speaker series, panel discussions, etc.

The design should also have a password protected Members’ Section for
Accessing listserve archives
Finding peer information
Posting business plans


Designers are encouraged to incorporate features, concepts and
functionality they believe will enhance the project. There will be a
section devoted to highlighting the artistic, cultural, and imaginative
creativity of Syracuse residents as well.

In addition to many of the features outlined above, online visitors will
also be able to:
Experience locally developed creative content such as short films, music
pieces, games, etc.
Participate in online discussions/listserves covering topics of common
interest

The portal will also have standard features such as a site/internet search
function; site map; email/contact information; standard disclaimers, etc.


I have been called to give a 15 minute presentation and a 15 min question
and answer period tommorrow at 2pm
