Net Publishing Made Profitable

http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64563,00.html

Snippet:
After 13 years of experimenting, veteran Net publisher Adam Engst has finally stumbled on a good business model -- fast-turnaround e-books. The books are written by a small stable of independent authors, who receive 50 percent royalties. Costing $5 or $10, the books come with free updates for readers.

Interesting. Also interesting, on page 2 of the article, is his open allowance of e-book buyers to treat an e-book as they would a paper book -- by, perhaps, sharing it with a couple of friends but not putting it on a file-sharing network.

Most interesting.
