Does anyone have any advise for a novice networker? i've attended a couple of events locally, but they were quite cliquey and i got the impression that it was the same people going every week.

Hey there!

Networking isn't an instant gratification type of a thing - online or offline.

When you attend events offline, the idea is to get to know people, and have them get to know you - build relationships.

When they get to know you, and about your business, they'll be able to refer business to you.

Yes - the same people will be attending the same groups week over week - and that is so that they can continue to get to know each other.

If you find a group you like, you definitely want to put in regular appearances. If you only see these people once, they will not likely remember you when it comes time to refer business to you.

Hope that helps!

Recently joined Bizmeed.

What I find good about the site is the free PromoPages which they are now offering members. A friend achieved top search engine rankings in less than 3 months via one of the pages - hence my reason for joining!

Also, an excellent way of meeting new people :-)
