by Ed Duvall - Whether your new or an experienced marketer you should be putting in some effort in creating backlinks, or links pointing to your website, from other sites.

You want to create as many backlinks from other sites as you can because a well visited site also means that search engine spiders are more than likely also visiting it and spidering it for new content and when a spider finds a new link it generally follows it and spiders that site also.

Creating backlinks and generating targeted visitors using no cost resources can be easier than you think.

One perception you may need to change is how you can create backlinks and generate targeted traffic using no cost resources.

You should be spending most of your time on ways to generate traffic to your site or sales pages in an effort to increase your overall revenue... instead of reading dozens of salesletters for the latest "must have" products or lurking into forums or reading blogs without posting anything.

Visiting forums and blogs and leaving a comment with a link back to your site is not only a great, and acceptable, way to create backlinks to your site, but is also an extremely good way to build brand recognition for yourself as an expert.

If you run across a blog that has a "no follow" tag you may still want to leave a comment and a link on it if it looks to have good popularity and following. There is no telling how much traffic your comment may directly generate for your site.

If you're doing either of the above and you are allowed to leave a comment - do it. By leaving just one short comment on any blog where you're allowed you created a backlink to your website.

Google loves backlinks and so do all the other search engines and by doing these few backlinking strategies you've just created a backdoor traffic stream to your site.
